From November 18 to 24, 2023, the Medical Administration Department of the National Health Commission and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs jointly held the "2023 Antimicrobial Awareness Week" with the theme of "Working together to prevent Microbial resistance".

The relevant leaders of the animal husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and rural areas said that one world, one health. In recent years, China has worked with the international community to tackle microbial resistance and protect antimicrobials, demonstrating China's sense of responsibility. At present, the total use of antimicrobial drugs in the veterinary field shows a downward trend, and the bacterial resistance of animal drugs has been well controlled. In 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will continue to strengthen the monitoring of bacterial resistance to animal drugs and focus on a number of targeted tasks in the field of livestock and poultry breeding. For example, strengthen the quality supervision of veterinary antimicrobial drugs, supervise the sampling of antimicrobial veterinary drugs, etc., to ensure the quality and safety of the source of drugs.
